I’m going to South America for a couple weeks and I want to make the most of it by renting a motorcycle and riding through the Andes Mountains and the surrounding countries. I will be arriving in Lima, Peru and hopefully riding through Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay. Where do the locals in South America rent bikes? Everything I find on the web is targeted towards tourists and therefore a ripoff (0/day). I know there must be a local auto dealer in Lima who will rent me a motorcycle no questions asked for less than /day with a good deposit.
For example, when I did a similar trip in India, the prices you’d find on english websites were also a ripoff, but once I got there I could rent a motorcycle for /month or /day.
If anyone from Peru or has been to Peru has any insight they can share with me on renting a motorcycle in South America, I’d be very grateful.

It’s a simple answer: DON’T rent one, BUY one. It’s a lot easier/ cheaper to buy a good and cheap motorcycle than to rent one.
Do your tour and then sell it for almost the same price. (Thanks to inflation)
