Q&A: Study Abroad: Valdivia, Chile or Buenos Aires, Argentina?
Question by M A: Study Abroad: Valdivia, Chile or Buenos Aires, Argentina?
I am going to study abroad this spring. My two affordable options are either Valdivia, Chile or Buenos Aires, Argentina. Both have such different things to offer. I was wondering if anyone had advice on what they think would be a good choice. I want to be able to have travel adventures, learn Spanish, and meet wonderful, kind people. I would like to do some extreme outdoor activities and learn a lot about the culture. Both of these places have a lot to offer, but I am so indecisive that I am having a hard time choosing. Any information would be so helpful. Thank you
Happy travels

Definately Argentina!! You will learn a lot and have a BLAST!
What do you think? Answer below!
Argentina all the way! it is very culturally rich and you will be able to learn a lot!
ARGENTINA is the best choice for sure , very cultural, nice people, night life, very good food.
Um extreme outdoor activities in Buenos Aires?….come on people.
I don’t think this person means dodging traffic or telling panhandlers to beat it as a sport.
If you want everything you posted above then I would say Chile.
Argentina is a fun city but keep in mind its a congested city like New York.
I would suggest checking out the Spanish schools before going to Valdivia because there will not be as many as BA.
I know for a fact that Buenos Aires is a wonderful city, full of night life and nice weather. The problem is that it is so cosmopolitan and there are so many foreigners that you’ll end up speaking English all day long! And an extreme outdoors experience might be going to 10 different pubs in one night.
My brother studies in Valdivia. It is quite a small city compared with BA, but that might be an advantage if you want to learn the language and have extreme outdoors experiences, since the place is surrounded by rivers, lakes and forests.
