Q&A: Should I get a tour guide for Patagonia, or can this be done without one?
Question by SAM: Should I get a tour guide for Patagonia, or can this be done without one?
Here’s the itinerary that the tour guide provided:
Day 1.- Full Day Tour Torres del Paine National Park, night in Torres camping side. Includes: Private transportation, guide, camping equipment, meals.
Day 2 .- Hike to base of the towers, 7 hrs round trip.
Includes: Guide, lunch and private transport.
Day 3 .- Penguins colony – Puerto Natales. Includes: Private transport, guide and ticket to the penguin colony.
Day 4 .- Day Tour to El Calafate Argentina, night in El Calafate .
Includes: private transportation and guide.
Day 5 .- Tour Perito Moreno Glacier and return to Puerto Natales.
Includes: private transportation and guide.
Would it be possible to see these sights without a guide, or is it worth it just to put the money in toward a guide?

having a guide would be preferable and safer especially if your unfamiliar with this country and do not speak the language. And it alleviates unnecessary stress because everything is done..all you have to do is enjoy.
But aint nothing like seeing the sights at your own pace..absorbing it all without having to stick to a schedule lol
We did the tour and halfway through bailed out n got a rental..people were extremely kind and helped us when they could..
i saw the most beautiful places no tour guide can show you.
