Q&A: Is there one big tour of South America?

Question by itsabouttime1225: Is there one big tour of South America?
Im talking about a tour that hits all the main stops you should make while there. Like hiking the inca trail to machu picchu, and going into the amazon rainforest. Also going to the galapagos islands and rio de janeiro. Thanks for any answers

I have never seen one like that being advertised, however parts of it yes. The cost will be prohibitive and the tour operator would not be able to satisfy all interests.
If you want to do a trip like that it would be possible to do it over a period of time while going from one destination to the other. I have personally seen most of the interesting sites from the Arctic Circle to Ushuaia the tip of South America with the exception of Venezuela and the two Guyanas.
You take a map and start planning the route, include all the stops and decide which parts to do overland and which to fly to.
Naturally it took me several times away from home or home base to do certain legs of the trip. . .over a period of several years.
My advice is not to go on a tour but to do it as an independent and be a ‘Budget Traveler’, also go alone and meet many people en route. Traveling with somebody else is a problem since there will be disagreements of where to go, where to stay or where to eat. . .Oh well.

I haven’t seen any big tours of south america, but lan chile came with something call south america air pass, it lets u travel south america for less than what you paid for separate tickets, have also in mind that lan chile flies to most of destination in South America, and in some countries like Peru, Ecuador and Chile they flight domestic as well.
You can flight to Lima and then take a flight to Cusco that is where Machu Picchu is at, check if there any flights Cuzco -Iquitos (that is a city in the Peruvian rain forest) from there catch a amazon river cruise that would cross from Peru to Brasil (this cruises are fairly new so not to many people knows about them)
