Q&A: American Arrogance? Never!?
Question by noggin: American Arrogance? Never!?
Americans are arrogant, both politically and religiously. But with what justification? Being hybrids of European and African cultures, they have led us into more wars and financial crises than any other country in the world.
I am not way in the least way, racist or xenophobic. My late great -grandfather was half-Irish, half potato, who, unfortunately fell foul to the Blight of 1851 and had to migrate to America, where God Bless him, he found work on the MGM Film Studios, playing bit-parts as an hard-bitten batton-weilding cop, beating down Jewish immigrants and taking bribes from Italian cafe owners. He made a living, and the family was never without Kosher salami and ice-cream for breakfast, when he was on nights,
But I do feel that, as with school bullies, the American way is to tramp on someone, before they get a chance to stamp on you.
It is almost like an insecurity thing.
Germans are arrogant on holiday (yet nice people in their own country); Japanese seem to find themselves bowing down, given any opportunity (I suspect through their treatment of POW’s in WW2); Chinese continue to totally disregard Human Rights; African dictatorships leave their own people starving to death in their millions and English people still think we have an Empire, having stripped India, Pakistan, South Africa and every other place they can think off and continue to do so at the first opportunity by employing cheap labour, thus leaving hundreds of thousands of well qualified workers out of jobs here and ergo leading to increased poverty and crime.
What IS the answer?

I apologised if I have missed offending anyone by my rantings. It is time for breakfast, and I intend to make sure I am first in line, before any Polak.
Do your worst. If YOU don’t report me for abuse – I will report myself.

This question is absolutly hillarious! haha!
Anyway, yes, I agree with the first answer.
Judging a country’s people by the way they are led by their spastic leaders is unfair.
I am an American but I really really really don’t want to trample on anyone, feel self entitled…I just want to work hard for my living and be happy. haha.
Very interesting though and I wish I were able to have breakfast…but seeing as it is 11:48 at night in my corner of the globe, I am off to bed. Good night.
As a Nation, yes, we are arrogant and loud and obnoxious. If the world doesn’t like where we lead, perhaps they should stop following. Do we have a justification? I think we do. Can I tell you what it is? Nope. It’s different for every single one of us. For me, it’s knowing that I live in a country where people help each other out, where there are no religious wars being fought in the streets, where my kids can go to school and not worry about the next bombing. It’s safety and security all rolled into justice and freedom. Here if you aren’t satisfied with your life, you can go back to school and fix it. Does this mean I support wars for oil? Nope. The awesome thing is I can say that because I live here!
