    Unless they were willing to convert to the Catholic religion the spanish adventurers(also known as the conquistadors) slaughter millions of south american and mexican tribes. They had diseases such as small pox which would alone kill millions of the tribe members.

    As ? pointed out, they exposed the native populations to such hitherto unknown diseases as smallpox, scarlet fever, measles, and more.

    Since the goal of the Conquistadors was to find riches, they ruthlessly plundered such people as the Inca, and behaved, in general, like looters.

    Many of the Spanish killed the Natives. Often if the natives refuses to convert to Christianity they often killed them. Many Natives were force to work in labor camps were many of them died of European disease the Spanish brought. And sometimes they had attacking dogs attack the Natives butt naked.
