Q&A: Does anyone know anything about international shipping and handling?
Question by joey: Does anyone know anything about international shipping and handling?
Any basic knowledge would be great. More specifically, I’m hoping to send a 12 oz jar of peanut butter to a friend of mine in Finland for the holidays, as he has never seen or tasted it in real life. I know it sounds weird, but it’s a cultural thing. Much appreciated!

Package it well against breakage.
Take the box to the post office, where you will have to fill out a customs declaration form which is attached to the package in a clear plastic envelope.
Where it says to write down what the contents are, write “peanut butter spread” and the approximate value (round the amount up to the next dollar).
There will be a place to indicate whether it’s a purchased item, gift, etc., check “gift”.
Ship it via air mail, pay the postage due, and send it off.
And buy some stamps. You never know when you’ll need more stamps. Get some pretty ones.
Regardless of national or inter-nation shipping you have to declare when shipping food. I shipped to and from the UK recently and I recommend shipping priority and insuring it, even if it is just peanut butter, and insure it for the cost of the item and the shipping. That way you are not out any money if your item gets damaged.
Post office is by far the cheapest.
Just put it in a box wrapped in bubble wrap.
Hey the Dutch kept telling me they didn’t have peanut butter too.
But they do! It’s just called peanut spread or cheese
PINDAKAAS
he might open it and find the jokes on him ! LOLOL
DO NOT PAY FOR INSURANCE… it comes with enough to cover a jar of peanut butter! You don’t need to BUY insurance.
