Get to malindi and Sail gently down the Mombasa creek while you sip cocktails and your tour leader points out places of interest and recalls anecdotes of the East Africa coast’s colorful past. An excellent four course dinner with a choice of seafood or a meat course is the highlight of the evening.
Question by DAM0123: Where can i find cheap flights to travel around Africa?
i have tried to find cheaper flights than £400 because i want to travel to a number of countries including South Africa, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania. Or if flights at their cheapest are still expensive, what is the best way to travel? (I want to travel by lowest budget as possible and really don’t care about “roughing it” on buses)

Answer by cakes4africa Africa is an interesting place to travel around. Many parts of the continent are war zones, no go zones, or just really hard to get to. The best way to travel the continent is up the east cost on bus. Flying is also possible but an expensive option. Buses are by far the cheapest way to go. Most people Start in Cape Town and head up to Kenya. Keep in mind that national parks are geared toward tour groups and are not easily accessible for independent travelers. If you plan on traveling Africa, we recommend hitching a ride with an independent, hop on/hop off bus tour.

Coral Key Beach Resort lies on the beautiful white beach of Malindi called Silversand. Located right on the Silversand beach front – 5 km from Malindi Town Centre, 6 km from Malindi Airport and 110 km from Mombasa Airport. The town’s history is reputed to go back a thousand years but it can only be reliably dated to the 13th century by Arabic records and dated pottery shards. Many hotels serve the town whose main beach sweeps for 7 km round Malindi Bay. The long white sandy beach to the south of Malindi town is called Silversands, once only occupied by private villas but now hosting a panorama of small, mostly Italian owned, hotels. A casino, nightclubs, fascinating ancient mosques, a colorful market, a nine hole golf course and, of course, the renowned Malindi Marine National Park all add to the resort’s many attractions. So does the fish market and the fishing club from which stalwarts from all over the world set forth in search of giants of the sea. Kenya holds several world records for big game fish and it was here that Hemingway lingered in the 30′s to enjoy his favorite sport. The evening cruise is the most renown of all the coastal trips. An enchanting evening of exotic seafood blended with a romantic cruise aboard an authentic Arab Dhow around the old port of Mombasa Town. The dhow, Nawalilkher, was built in 1977 for trading. At 23 meters, she is the largest dhow on the coast. Purchased in 1986, she was converted for restaurant use by her original builder Fundi Bini on Lamu Island, under the watchful eye of Mohammed Shalle, who is still her captain today. It has a recorded history stretching back nearly 2000 years, and was mentioned in the Periplus of the Erythraean Sea, a pilot’s guide to the Indian Ocean written by one Diogenes, a Greek living in Egypt, around the end of the first century AD Mombasa was again mentioned by Ptolemy in the second century but then remained in relative obscurity, despite the development of a series of city states by migrant Arabs, until the adventurers, traders and conquerors visited the town beginning with Vasco Da Gama in 1498. Long stretches of idyllic beaches, fringed with palms, screwpines, casuarinas and scented with oleanders and frangipani makes Mombasa a visitor’s paradise.
