Which is better for a relaxing blue beach resort holiday, Bali or Fiji?
Question by Mealsy: Which is better for a relaxing blue beach resort holiday, Bali or Fiji?
I really don’t want to be around kids at the resort and just some R&R time is required. I also want to enjoy some cultural experiences and not just stay in the resort the whole time. Lookin at going for 5-7 days

I think Bali is an ideal place that you need to visit. Because Bali own beautiful resort, privacy villas, white sandy beach resort, serenity and luxury accommodation. It is also featured by unique and beautiful cultures, attractive dance performance and many places of interest that you can visit.
The unique local activities with great agricultural are also as the fascination for tourist who visit this island. meanwhile the adventures, cruises to the beautiful island, marine sport activities and other activities you can do during your vacation in this island.
I hope this information could be in order

Having been to both places, I would say hands down Fiji. The two vacation spots have very different cultures. In Fiji, the local Fijians are not money oriented. Tipping at most resorts is prohibited, with the exception of a small voluntary contribution to the staff Christmas fund. Bali is the opposite, the minute that you leave your hotel you will be surrounded by people hawking you for money or trying to get you into their taxi or to buy their trinket. They will follow you down the street and some are quite aggressive. The beach areas are the worst. From what I was told, these hawkers are not the local Balinese, but are from Jakarta or other parts of Indonesia. Parts of Bali are beautiful and interesting, but the ever present hawkers did not make it a relaxing trip for me.
My husband and I are getting ready to go to Fiji, for a last vacation before we have our first child (I am 5 months pregnant). Knowing that I wanted something relaxing, Fiji was at the top of my list.
I have’nt been to Bali but know afew people that have.
As someone said above, it does seem that you can get hounded by people trying to sell you things, etc etc.
Where as Fiji, have been there (july 05),and can highly recommend it also.
If you want R+R,away from kids at resorts, try Matamanoa Is.
It has a policy of no children under 13yrs old.
Fantastic food, great snorkeling, fishing trips, and if you wish to know about the fijian culture, the resort staff are very accomadating and will even go out of their way to show you it.
It may be a small island, not crowded (46 buras i think) but a very affordable, and in my own experience, a very pleasurable and unforgettable relaxing fijian holiday… Enjoy your holiday
