when is the best time to go to Queensland for a holiday?
Question by Jacquiix3: when is the best time to go to Queensland for a holiday?
When’s the best time to go to Cairns in Queensland (Australia)
my parents are planning to go in January but i don’t think it’s the best time of year to go, my geography teacher once said to go between April & September but i forgot why… so if you know, please tell me
also, is January a ‘good-enough’ time to go? because it’s the holiday for me and my parents will close their bakery for about 2 weeks. so January really is the only suitable month to go :3 oh how that sucks O:
thanks in advance

cairns is tropical, it has wet and dry seasons. the dry season is april – november. the wet season is also the cyclone season
also it is best to avoid the stingers – jellyfish. these are also more common during the wet season

Your geography teacher is right ….January is slap bang in the middle of the wet season in the tropics & not the best time to go….I’d definitely recommend you give the north a miss!
However , it’s a great time to visit southern Queensland & northern New South Wales , particularly the Gold Coast…it’s the middle of school holidays here …plenty of fun & activity & no problems swimming off our beaches..
January is a bad time to go to Cairns Cyclones could come in and you will be stuck in your hotel with torrential rains . You will need the aircon on as you will be sweating all the time. But who knows people live there all year around and love it so if thats the only time you can go then go.
