Depends on the state.
Generally begin School End of Jan/Very Early Feb. – End of March.
Go Back Mid April – End of June.
Go back Mid July – Mid September
Go Back Mid October – Mid December.
Summer Holidays for almost 2 months.
Secondary Schools might go to some holidays earlier, and there are exceptions, but generally thats it. Private Schools also get more holidays.
VIC Term dates 2010
Term 1 – 1 February (students start) to 26 March – teachers begin Term 1 on 27 January
Term 2 – 12 April to 25 June (26 April – ANZAC Day Public Holiday)*
Term 3 – 12 July to 17 September (9 August is an additional one-off student-free day)*
Term 4 – 4 October to 17 December

generally two weeks three times a year (between each term) and then for the summer holidays i got off the 3rd of december (i think) and will go back on the 1st of feb
Week and a bit for Easter
Two weeks June and September (although some private schools have three weeks in June)
Six weeks over Christmas / New Year.
Varies slightly from state to state. States next to each other try to vary it slightly so that people can holiday more freely. So Queensland and New South Wales try not to keep the overlap done through the year, and Christmas they start different weeks…
