What is the cheapest way to get stuff I’ve bought on holiday, home from Germany TO Australia?

Question by decemberevening: What is the cheapest way to get stuff I’ve bought on holiday, home from Germany TO Australia?
I have bought some books, aluminium bottles, a couple of lamps and some clothes, but my suitcase was pretty full already on the way here. I can live without some of the overflow for a while, even months if need be. So how can I get it home without getting a massive excess baggage cost at the airport? Is there an in-the-know way of doing it?
By the way, I don’t have any makeup :-P not that sort of girl!!!

you could try FEDEX or DHL, just pack it up, contact the local office, and arrange for them to quote you on size/weight to Australia. It is bound to be cheaper than excess baggage charges.

  1. December, you are facing a weight allowance, and probably a charge of about $10 a kilo or more, so throw away anything that you have that is not worth that, including your makeup and other gal stuff that you can replace at home. Put the books in your carry-on and hold in your arms as though you are reading it/them.

If you are too heavy, give UPS, FedEx and DHL and check out their prices to ship the stuff to you in Australia.
