I’ll be travelling to New Zealand in December. Want to know are there any flight operators besides Air New Zealand that one can travel from? I have to take a flight from north island to south island. Also which would be more economical?
I heard Qantas operates as well. Is it true?

As far as I know, there aren’t any low cost carriers which operate for domestic flights. Air Pacific suspended their services in August and Freedom Air offers only flights to Australia.
