Question by paula r: What are the rules to obtaining a New Zealand working Holiday permit?
I read you can get one for a year, but I did read anything about having to go to school, or be in school to do it. So can I basically apply for one without any exceptions?? Give me the low down, top points for best answers.

It depends on your country of citizenship but if that’s the USA, you can apply even if you didn’t finish high school.

First off, you have to have a passport. Then, check out the New Zealand immigration website, http://www.immigration.co.nz and look under working holiday visas. You will have to meet the criteria in order to get a visa. If you know where you want to go in New Zealand, look at http://www.seasonaljobs.co.nz or seasonalwork.co.nz for jobs. Keep in mind that we are in the middle of summer here right now, so if you are looking at coming over in the northern hemisphere summer months, there may not be as many jobs available. Check out http://www.backpackerboard.co.nz as well.
