Q&A: Would you go on a holiday to Kangaroo Island, South Australia?
Question by Rebecca Cherie: Would you go on a holiday to Kangaroo Island, South Australia?
This if for a school project, kind of like a survey ![]()
Kangaroo Island is an island off the coast of South Australia. It is very isolated, which is a plus for some and a downfall for others. It has amazing wildlife, beautiful flora and fauna, but very small townships and less nightlife than in large cities. There are great fishing and hiking oppertunities, and some of the most untouched landscapes in the world. It is very rugged, but has been described as “the real australia.”
Would you travel here?
Why, Why not? What attracts you or turns you off about the destination?
If you have been, what would you improve to increase tourism?
What are other factors that would influence or decision on whether to travel or not…

I have visited Kangaroo Island, back in 1983!! we went by plane, nowadays, there is the ferry which I consider very expensive, specially if you want to take your car. Most of the roads I believe are still ‘not the best’ but, yes, the wildlife (seal colony) etc. is absolutely beautiful. Accomodation ranges in price, and youve said it, not much night life. To increase tourism – lower the charges to get there. apart from that, leave it as it is, wild, unspoilt and a bit primitive.
