Q&A: How much money do i need to travel Australia for 7 months?

Question by Matt: How much money do i need to travel Australia for 7 months?
I am going travelling in Australia on the 04,2010. Starting in cairns then moving down to sydney etc. I am going with my other half and we would be staying in hostels etc backpacking around. I was thinking around £2000 each for 7 months is this enough. any help is more than welcome.
Cheers
Matt

Australia is surprisingly cheap, and it’s really easy to pick up odd jobs for extra money if you ever needed it. If you’re backpacking around everywhere then you’re budget should be fine but don’t expect anything luxury

Depends on how expensive you live. But I would say about $1500AUD each a month as long as you live realtively cheap do travel too much that will add up to expense and pay for expensive entry fee’s to mediocre attractions.

So all together maybe $10,000AUD each ($20000 together). which equals about 5000ponds each. 2000 sounds a little small.

    Good Luck.
