Hi there! First of all, congratulations and hope you have a great married life. Now, the answer to your question:

The answer is Bali…it’s a beautiful locale, replete with all the comforts in the world (5 star hotels, jacuzzis, satellite television, spas…you name it. When you think of a honeymoon, think of sandy beaches, blue water, beautiful, picturesque scenery, and lots of privacy.

Fiji – well…I am not sure of the facilities there. I know there are a lot of people who opt to go there simply because it’s removed. However, I feel that a honeymoon should be private and most importantly, comfortable.

Not Thailand…it is a beautiful place, but I would recommend you take off elsewhere, simply because it’s going to be crowded at all times of the year. I would not recommend this as a honeymoon destination – everyone I know does it (although I didn’t). You can visit Thailand on a trip where you know you don’t mind being surrounded by people…something like a vacation with other couples or something…am sure that would be much more fun then.

    Hope this helps.

  2. If you want to be isolated and enjoy relaxing the beach and sun, then Fiji, very calm place.
Bali is beautiful, for more fun too.
Thailand is kind of worse than Cancun, lots of discos, bars, and adult entertainment, lots of Strip clubs, etc……
    Would suggest Bali

  3. I’ve never been to Fiji, Bali or Thailand, but my wish is to go on a honeynmoon, some day, on Bali. I really don’t know why, it sounds, as well as it looks exotic and attractive.

If you go to Bali for a beach holiday honeymoon, you will be really disappointed. You will be inundated with hawkers, massage ladies, gigolos and every other type of annoyance you can think of. The hotels also let their sewage flow freely into the ocean where people swim, so there is also the high risk of catching diseases.

If you must honeymoon in Bali, go more inland, to an area called Ubud. I also have a friend in Air Sanih, closer to Lovina, who has a stunning mountain hotel overlooking the ocean. This is the website: http://www.mimpibali.com

The website itself is not very impressive, but the hotel and location are seriously beautiful. Designed and run by a German woman, very nice person. She speaks many European languages, as well as English and Indonesian. They have a natural spa, massages, beautiful pool surrounded by a garden full of tropical plants, private property so there are NO sellers, NO gigolos, NO beach chickens. Honestly, it’s probably the most stunning place I’ve seen in a long time.

I’ve had dinner there before and the food was awesome. The open rooftop bar/cafe looks down the mountain to the ocean. It’s a very relaxing atmosphere and her staff are very polite and helpful, good service. They can also sort out car rentals for you, take you on treks to see waterfalls, take you shopping in traditional markets, arrange romantic dinners for you, etc. They go out of their way to fulfill all requests whenever and however possible.

    Definitely worth checking out.
