Q&A: Can you claim tax back from a working holiday in new Zealand?

Question by Becky K: Can you claim tax back from a working holiday in new Zealand?
I have been working in New Zeland on a casual basis under my 1 year working visa. When we did this in Australia after we had left we were able to claim back all of the tax we had paid whilst we were there. Do you know if you can do the same thing after leaving New Zeland and if so how?
Thanks

If you were here for less than 183 days then you are classed as a New Zealand non-resident employee and you should be able to get your income tax back (so long as you paid the correct amount of tax to Inland Revenue when you were here). Naturally there are lots of forms you have to fill out.
