Q&A: a REAL fiji beach holiday?
Question by Rick: a REAL fiji beach holiday?
I want to go to Fiji for a relaxing beach holiday… but I want to experience the REAL Fiji – not just a westernised resort.
I’ve heard that the main island is rubbish and that I should get out to an island but there are many – I want one with a white sandy beach and relaxed atmosphere. My girlfriend loves scuba diving so maybe somewhere with some good dive spots nearby?
Any advice on where to go would be greatly appreciated.
We were thinking of going for a week.
Also, I don’t have ALL the money in the world

Try staying in a hostel instead of a hotel, pacific backpackers was awesome try the bigger hostels around the Beqa area, its cheap to get to, half way between Nadi and Suva and its a really high quality area for hostels. The area is also great for diving Beqa lagoon has a great shark dive and you can get private rooms so even though its a hostel you have privacy. Although this is the main land it is not in the really touristy areas.
Hey! I’m from Taveuni. Go there! its the Garden Island of Fiji. U can experience the REAL Fiji like u said & also go scuba diving, lie on a beach & relax. U could also stay in Savusavu. Its on Vanua Levu.
