passport for baby born in new zealand, irish parents on work visas?

Question by Avi: passport for baby born in new zealand, irish parents on work visas?
baby born in new zealand to irish parents on work visas and planning on traveling back to ireland on holidays with new baby to show everyone!!! what type/how does this work with passport for baby? for leaving new zealand and getting into ireland with baby and also for arriving back into new zealand after our holiday??? any advice/help much appreciated :o )

Well, the baby will have dual citizenship as he or she will automatically be New Zealander, so can get a New Zealand passport right away. You can also apply for the baby to get the Irish citizenship which will give baby an Irish passport. I assume the baby will be fine travelling to Ireland on a New Zealand passport just fine. I don’t know what country you can be in while applying for the Irish one, but traveling back and forth should be fine either way!
