If i had a working holiday visa for New Zealand, but wanted to go back to visit is there any time restrictions

Question by redrachel1: If i had a working holiday visa for New Zealand, but wanted to go back to visit is there any time restrictions
We went last year to NZ and got 1 year working Visas, my partner seems to think he read somewhere that we would not be allowed back into the country for 10 years (even as a tourist, just to visit. I’m British, he’s American.
Any thoughts, as it’s driving me mad!

Many thanks
i realise this in in the Australia section, but i could not figure out how to get it in a NZ bit as there was no choice

you can go on a visitor visa but they will not grant you another working visa yet

Hehe tell your partner that he is the one going mad! Not you!

Of course you are allowed back!

Many Brits (and now presumably Americans) use the working holiday visa (is this what you had?) to get a feel for the country before deciding whether to move to it.

If you had a regular work permit (ie your visa entitled you to work for a specific company only) there may be other restrictions but certainly not a 10 year restriction.

Not unless you were deported would that kind of rule apply. In fact, even people deported can apply for reentry at their nearest Embassy/High Commission.

You should probably check the British High Commission and NZ High COmmission and NZ Embassy websites. It would put your mind at rest.
