I have a friend that had spring break in New Zealand with his family.But New Zealand has a 17 hour ahead time difference. If his flight left at 7:15pm on Friday, what time will he arrive in Chicago, Illinois?

It is difficult to say from the data given, since there is no non-stop service from Wellington, and there is no 7:15 PM departure from Christ Church or Wellington that makes a “normal” connection to Chicago. There are hundreds of purmutations that are possible as far as flights are concerned. It would help to know what airline they are flying or how they are going.

The flight from Auckland New Zealand departing at 07:15 pm will arrive at Los Angeles at 12:15 pm next day. When he arrives at O’Hare depends on the connecting flight; it could be either 10:27 pm, 11:33pm, or 12:13 am.
