You’d need a work permit. Visit the NZ immigration site to find out more

Do you plan on getting a snowboarding-related job or any job and snowboarding as a past time?

You’ll need to apply for a work visa if you’re not a resident or citizen. Just Google NZ work visa and the website will guide you through no doubt.

I assume you are already a licensed ski/snowboard instructor if you wanted a snowboarding-related job???
Rurapehu is the skiing/snowboarding place in the North Island, located in the central area and has a good reputaion. About two hours from various cities, like Taupo or Hamilton; both great places. Otherwise it’s the Queenstown area at the bottom of the South Island, with 3 worldclass ski/snowboard resorts. Queenstown is the largest tourist area in NZ, so there is more likely to be more job and varied job positions for the season, but both are great places to work and provide many opportunities for outgoing people such as hiking, rockclimbing, rafting, and a lot more.
Go onto their websites and enquire about any upcoming positions. Otherwise there are many odd-jobs for backpackers and international visitors on backpacking websites, accomodation, and papers for reduced/free board in return until you can find a job.

Hope this helps. You’ll love it!
