Holiday for two: scam or real, please please help?
Question by globetrotter1: Holiday for two: scam or real, please please help?
Ok so me and my sister went to the mall today (we live in nz) and there was a scratchy thing there we scratched it and the lady said we won a trip for two to the gold coast australia with a weeks accommodation but she said we have to attend a 90 minute presentation no obligation to pay for anything or anything so were giving it to my parents as one of my dads birthday present in two days. Anyway, how do i know if its real or if its just a scam? ‘Cause I know some of them are real and some people have actually won the holidays and we really want it to be real ’cause they’ve done so much for us and my brother and everyone else they deserve so much they deserve a break at least lol … We have won a similar thing though about 4 years ago where we had to attend a 90 min pres and they actually gave us the free tickets so im hoping this one is real too im just not sure … Is there a website that lists worldwide scams or anything? Thanks in advance.

read all the fine print. That 90 minute presentation is most probably going to turn out to be a 5 hour high pressure time share sales pitch that wont let you leave until you agree to buy a timeshare. And see what that trip really includes, most of these give free accommodation but only on the dates they pick and you have to book your flight thru their travel agent (at ridiculous prices) and the trip doesnt include fees and taxes which will add hundreds to your free trip and end up costing you more than if you went on your own. That happened to a friend who won a free trip to Spain that ended up costing much more than if she booked it on her own and stayed in a better place
