Question by Lindz G: Cheapest time to book flights UK-Australia for Easter?
Myself and a couple of friends want to visit friends out there. Please don’t just say “look around for the best deal” I’m already doing that!
I want to know how far in advance to book to get the flights at their cheapest point. We are all students and under 26, how many companies will offer us a discount? We have to travel within school holidays (we are trainee teachers) but are flexible on dates within that – mid-week or weekend cheaper?
Flying to Brisbane by the way. Probably from London Heathrow as you can’t get far from Glasgow (where we live). Just some general advice, this trip will fall through if we can’t find flights cheap enough!

Book them now and buy your tickets. That way you are protected from future price increases.
UK to Australia is a long way, and the fares reflect that.

research prices and keep an eye out. When you see a cheap one grab it.
I would start to make serrious plans around now.
a good travel agent would be able to give you the best advice. I think myself that now would be a good time. You are a fair few months out and airlines are constantly putting charges and taxes up so get them while they are still ‘cheap’.
Also, it may be better flying from Glasgow. There is no schedualed flights from London to Brisbane. Emirates fly from Glasgow and they also fly into Brisbane.
You would have to stop in Dubai and possibly Singapore, but that would save you from transfering to Heathrow.
