Apply under your British passport
Actually it isn’t *quite* as simple as it is not just citizenship that counts but the place of residency as well.
According to www.immigration.govt.nz (which is what you are referred to from the NZ Embassy Page you must also be usually permanently resident in the UK as well, though you can be temporarily overseas. Presumably what this means is that you technically aren’t eligible for a WHV to NZ. However, I see no reason why you couldn’t live in the UK for a while and then apply to NZ (and just say that you are therefore permanently in the UK). Good luck though as I am sure you will be fine. You may just need to live in the UK for a bit first.
