Australia: Volcanic ash continues to ground flights CCTV News
In Australia, the ash cloud from the Chilean volcano continues to cause disruptions to air travel. Several airlines are grounding flights bound for the city of Perth in western Australia. Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia suspended more than 50 flights on Wednesday that were in and out of Perth. Virgin Australia has avoided some cancelations by changing flight-paths but says the ash plume approaching Perth is too low to fly around. Qantas has been hearing complaints from stranded passengers who have been stuck for the past four days. It plans to resume flights on Friday when the ash cloud from Chile is expected to recede from south Australia. But, with the ash plume looming over the western coast, Perth remains cut-off for the time being. Information provided by cctv.com Thank you www.cctv.com http
