Argh…Its just so unfair!!!?

Question by Ella: Argh…Its just so unfair!!!?
ok well I live in New Zealand and its the end of our school year now. This years been pretty **** for me for many reasons but i’ve got through it by pretty much becoming addicted to school work. It seems like every weekend and every school night and all through the holidays i’ve been studying. My big aim for this year was to get the first in the top academic award. I have done really well this year because of my hard work but i’m still not getting this award as I found out last week. I’m really pissed off because this girl who i’m kind of friends with and who I know (because i’ve seen her report) doesn’t get as good results is getting it. I’m not just being jealous because I know i’m not naturally smart, I just work REALLY hard and its a fact that I get better results than her. I was so board that one lunch time I even got her (and others) results and averaged them all out and mine were a lot better. Anyway the only way i’ve worked out that she got this award over me is that her art results were overly weighted in proportion to other subjects. Anyway it just seems so unfair because i’ve worked so hard all year and this girl only started studying a a week and a half before exams (like I said i’m friends with her so i’d know). She is also a lot wealthier than me because he dad owns this law firm. She went to Hawaii this year and she is going to travel round Europe at the end of the year with her family and i’ve never even been out of New Zealand. Also I have completly got all my results myself through shere hard work she has had tutors and stuff. She is the only child in her family and he is like the apple of her mums eye, I actually need this award to stand out in my family! Also I have made a special effort to be matey with every one of my teachers this year, she just acts like a sulky teenager sitting in class saying nothing. Oh and finally she’s a bully. Its just so unfair!!!!

I know its not that big of a deal and worse **** like this happens all the time to other people but all i’ve worked towards this award for since December last year and i’m guttered. The prize giving is this Wednesday and I am getting a few “first in subject awards” but I havn’t decided if i’m going yet. So please guys share some of your unfair experiences/express your opinions to make me feel better! and sorry that you had to listen to my bitching.

oh yeah one more thing, i’m doing way hard subjects than her.

my subjects=history, accounting, economics, maths, english, science
her subjects=art, french, geograhpy, maths, english, science

  1. It can be a real bummer when you work so hard for a goal and someone else beats you out, especially when from your viewpoint you worked harder and deserved it more. I went for a scholarship when I was graduating and had high hopes, but did not get it. But I ended up with other recognitions that the winner did not get.

I think you should go and get your awards with a smile on your face. You’ll be the bigger person by doing so.
