Airlie Beach, gateway to the Whitsunday islands has a reputation for being a great place to party, in between sailing trips to the islands. Another must stop location on the backpacker migration up north. In Airlie I decided that given it is such a big location for back packers, instead of interviewing an Aussie local, I would interview a back packer working at Airlie. i too love australia very much and will be there in next month with friends to visit Airlie beach.
Airlie Beach is awesome. Everyone should go there. Went 2 years ago and stayed 10 days and took in Whitehaven, and the sailing, catamaran trips, scuba diving, parasailing etc. Cant wait to go back!!!!!

@pocketspatel Ya just like Canada! Loyal to the crown. Independent yes. Loyal to the queen. I don’t really believe that the US is separate from the crown either. Look at the presidents real origins. His father was British. In the Us u could not be a “Natural Born citizen” in 1961 unless both parents were US Citizens. His father was British- Kenyan. So as I said Buetiful country too bad they don’t have illeagal imigration the way the US does. U know catch you and give you citezenship,car,house,$

@penguin217 Beautiful country! I live in Maine,us. Which is also very beautiful. The people here are friendly as Im sure they are down under. Even have a few smart asses here too. The beef does’nt glow on my farm. Not much survives the cold here unless its really tough or inside like me right now.
@goldmakers Yes there is paperwork, do your homework first, dont just rock up here and expect to stay!
Yep cigs are expensive – They kill ya so we need the tax before ya die! – But at least our beef doesnt glow or have some pig based foot and mouth crap. We want want people to come and have fun here in the land downunder, but dont come if you are going to winge about heat, the snakes, the crocs, spiders etc.
They havent killed anyone for weeks!!

@666megadude you cant imigrate to Austrailaia. Trust me. Even if you are a professional. They will bury your paper work for months and lose it. And finally you will run out of money and go home, because you don’t Have Papers. By the way a six pack of beer last year was 25 bucks. a pack of cigs is 11-20 dollars. Beef is 8.00 a pound. If you were from a British country you might get in.
