Why are the Christian holidays of Good Friday and Easter not included on Yahoo calendar for US holidays?
Question by saejdw: Why are the Christian holidays of Good Friday and Easter not included on Yahoo calendar for US holidays?
These days are recognized in Yahoo calendar only if you include holidays from Canada or Mexico as calendar preferences.
Thank you. At my job, we try to recognize all cultural holidays on our in-house calendar. I was surprised by the absence of these two important days to the Christian community. I had not considered that they were not considered national holidays.

Well, if you want to get technical, they shouldn’t be on ANY calendar observed by Americans.

They aren’t national holidays.
Because of the separation of church and state, these are not US government holidays.
Does it really matter?
America =/= Christian country
Yahoo is run by loads of goofy atheys.
Good Friday is not a federal holiday. I am not sure about Easter, but since it is on a Sunday, it may not be a holiday either.
I don’t think either is a Federal Holiday in the U.S.
I thought it had to do with the holidays moving around depending on the moon cycle but if they get included on the Canada and Mexico, I don’t know. A lot of holidays get left out.
they arent national holiday just Christian ones…
THEY ARE MARKED ON REAL PAPER CALENDARS…
It might be discrimination against Christians.
There is a conspiracy to get Jesus out of Christmas.
They aren’t on my employers calendar of ‘days off’ either.
If Easter fell on a weekday, which it doesn’t of course, I’d have to take a ‘personal day’ to observe it.
It’s part of the world we live in….yet, keep in mind, my employer grants the right for those of the Jewish faith to observe Rosh Hashanah and Passover.
They are not considered national holidays.
yeah, really, they’re not holidays, and strictly speaking, not even christian holidays
they are derived from earlier pagan festivals
if you don’t think so, you are being deceived, or deceiving yourself
edit* 2 people have been deceived lol
It’s an anti-christian conspiracy!
