Because not all of us are Christians, and lots of us celebrate other holidays.

    Political Correctness.
Which I think is a bunch of b.s.

    Where are you at, btw?

Because people are too damn politically correct these days…god forbid we offend someone…

  4. because a bunch of people get offended when we leave out the other holidays. and even though we have a freedom of speech, others seem to think that we dont.

Because a lot of other religions in the USA are complaining that it shows favoritism towards Christianity. So we’re trying to be respectful.

  6. It’s that whole politically correct thing and not wanting to offend anyone. Christmas is based in Christianity and christians don’t wish to offend persons of other faiths.

It’s an effort by America’s secularist minority to impose their will, and their atheism, on the majority of us who are Christians. Call it “tyranny of the minority.”

Some people think it is bad evil or offensive to celebrate Christmas. pretty stupid eh

You know, I’m Wiccan and celebrate Yule, but I haven’t a problem in the world with the word Christmas… but alas, I’m not the majority. It’s all to remain politically correct and not offend folks. I heard a thing the other day that said “America: land of the free and home of the offended”…. I’m a patriot, please don’t get me wrong, but we are turning into that slogan.

  10. Please Define “HOLIDAY”?

we have taken God/Christ out of everything else. i dont know what is wrong with our country. we are so afraid of offending people who dont believe in God that we forgot to protect those of us who believe in God and dont get offended over saying or hearing Christmas.

  13. are they? strange!! for my country, majority is Buddhist but they never seen problem to call ” Christmas “. In fact, they seldom call it ” Holidays” when the time of “Christmas”. Also, when times of Buddhist religious days never seem to be problems for Christians to call in there.

Because those that work with us dont like the word christmas if they dont celebrate it. It can become a legal situation for some if the jargon is not changed to reflect and respect those who do not celebrate christmas. I personally tell people merry christmas, but I understand too that others have different beliefs. I wouldnt want their impositions placed upon me.

i call it christmas always have and always will anyone don’t like it can cram it up the old yazooe

  16. mrc_faudoa Sep 19th 2011

BECAUSE THEY DONT WANT TO OFFEND PEOPLE WHO DONT AGREE OR BELIEVE IN CHRISTMAS.

The whole idea about taking the word Christmas out of December 25th is ridiculous. If they think it is politically correct they are dumb and I speak as a Jew. The word does not upset me and frankly I like seeing Manger scenes next to or near our Jewish Menora. Hey this is what America is all about a melting pot of all races and faiths. I have never been insulted if someone who didn’t know me said “Merry Christmas”. The wish is in good intention and that is what counts. So to all my Christian brothers and sisters “Merry Christmas”>

  18. tenderthunder Sep 19th 2011

political bs. It has the word Christ in it…

  19. I wish you a merry CHRISTmas, I wish you a merry CHRISTmas, I wish you a merry CHRISTmas, best Holiday of the year.

  20. chit-chaat7 Sep 19th 2011

because some of them (not me) are taking this politically correct garbage too far. I say call it Christmas and if it offends anyone then too bad !!!
what’s next – no more having Christmas as a day off?

  21. Too much political correctness and too many people are afraid of being sued or angering someone. The bottom line is people are getting too sensitive now a days.

  22. singin_gurl1200 Sep 19th 2011

because here people sue you for everything

  23. FabMom Sep 19th 2011

Most of us call it Christmas. Its a very vocal minority who think this might offend those who do no celebrate Christmas.

  24. angel100 Sep 19th 2011

celebrating Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Christ and well some people fail to believe that Christ is born so therefore people use x to replace Christ in the word Christmas or use the word holiday so that the wont offend others who dont believe but to celebrate Christmas and not believe in Christ is in my opinion is true contradiction and denying Christ cause of what others may think is just stupid but thats just my opinion
