Which is the best Caribbean holiday destination?

Question by xXx: Which is the best Caribbean holiday destination?
I want to go on a luxury holiday next year with my boyfriend (2009) to somewhere in the Caribbean, but everytime I do a search i’m faced with multiple choices and as i’ve never visited any of these places I don’t know where to start! Has anyone ever been or can recommend anywhere? Don’t want to spend an absolute fortune but willing to spend between 800 and 1000 pounds per person. Thanks!
Forgot to mention i’m from the UK and would prefer to fly from Manchester but would fly from any North West airport

Fly non-stop to G R E N A D A ! Beautiful island, wonderful people, romantic as can be. Enjoy your stay… consider staying at The Gem Beach Holiday Resort located on Morne Rouge Bay, just about 10 minutes from the airport too.

Try St. Lucia. Its very beautiful, everyone is friendly and there are a variety of accommodations to suit every budget.

Go to Jamaica!! You’ll love it and never want to leave =)

  4. I highly recommend Barbados – it’s the only island that has me keep coming back to. I’ve been to the beautiful island 8 times now.

If you want to budget, you can use http://www.flybmi.com/bmi/en-gb/index.aspx as it shows in the month I selected for GBP 593.90. The cheapest accommodation out there I know is Pegwell Inn Guest House but it may go out of business this year. Another suggestion is other guesthouses in case – always compare prices and do currency conversion to be sure.

Once you’re on the island, you’ll never want to leave. When you leave, you’ll want to come back some time.

For all-inclusive, try http://www.almondresorts.com/ or http://www.barbadosbeachclub.com/ but I believe there are a few more, but hope these helps. Guesthouse is another bet.

Trust me, Barbados is absolutely lovely. The nightlife in St. Lawrence Gap is great, even outside it like Club Xtreme, Harbour Lights and The Boatyard.

If you choose not to rent a car, transportation for big blue transport buses, yellow mini buses, or route taxi vans cost $1.50 BDS each way.

Bridgetown, its capital, is known for its duty-free shopping.

Hope this helps with your decision, even better that you can fly direct depending on what airline(s). You can als try Excel Airways as I hear they have some good deals.

You can try a travel agency, Newmont Travel, based in London. http://www.newmont.co.uk/ – They do have Manchester on the list, so you’re in luck. Even if you can’t travel to London, you can book online – again, in luck.

Hope this helps with your decision. I’ve known for travel agencies to be cheaper than airlines themselves, just an idea.
