Where to go on holiday in the USA?

Question by tiger_nutter: Where to go on holiday in the USA?
Next year I have an earlier summer holiday than normal because it’s my final year of secondary school. My dad has given me the opportunity to suggest/plan our family holiday. The holiday will probably be between 2-3 weeks. Me and my mum both want to visit New York City so I’m trying to plan around that. Is there anywhere in or around New York that’s good to visit?
I have little knowledge of the USA and where places are by the way! :L

Once my mom and I were watching that 70s Show and eating Cheese
and then all of a sudden she said “Let’s go to Wisconsin!” (We were living in Cali at the time)
And so we went to Wisconsin for my Spring Break and we actually had a good time… except that it was freezing
We stayed at a cute lodge and secretly made fun of the local’s accents

But we’re originally from Brooklyn New York
the country is beautiful
the city is hard if you’re not used to it

Cali is expensive
Florida (where I’m living now) and Hawai’i have horrible humidity – so if you have curly hair, stay away, or you’ll be complaining the entire time

You could easily spend 2-3 weeks in New York and not get bored. But close to New York, you could go to New Jersey and Queens. Not exactly a good impression of the States but a VERY good way to find out what the east US looks like.

  2. Vist Boston
Take a walk on the the Freedom Trail. It takes you everywhere you need to go, including the North End, which has the best Italian food in the country. The gelato is to die for. Other stops include Paul Revere’s house, the Old North Church, Faneuil Hall, Old Ironsides (U.S.S. Constitution), and Bunker Hill. The tour of U.S.S. Constitution is really neat. Faneuil Hall is where everyone goes to meet, shop, and hang out. (Lots of street theater and other interesting things.)

There is a real interesting museum at Harvard. They have a botanical collection reproduced in hand blown glass. There are 3,000 hand blown glass flowers and plants. It’s pretty amazing. Take a walk around the campus and Harvard Square.

Boston cream pie and Parker House rolls were created at The Parker House Hotel. Stop by for dinner. BTW you can order dinner rolls to go and they sell slices of the pie in the gift shop.
