Summer vacation is typically June-August. But there’s also usually 2-3 weeks off for Christmas vacation, but it oughta be over by now.

Also, there’s usually a week off in February and a week off in April.

School holidays in Canada for kids (i.e elementary school to high school) go from late June (like the 25th or so) til the Tuesday after Labour Day (usually about the 5th of September).

Then there are about 2 or 3 weeks off at Christmas time, from about December 20th til January 6th or so, and a week off in March for “March Break”. We also get specific days off such as Thanksgiving Monday, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day in May, Remembrance Day (November 11th), etc. Then there are a lot of In-service days or Professional Development days, i.e. days when the teachers go for training and the kids stay home.

University students have about the same times off, except longer in the summer (typically off from late April til early September unless they are taking summer classes). And their March break is in February.

    Hope this helps!

  3. In the US, the dates for public school holidays are determined by the local school system, and can vary by a month from each other.

Where I live, summer vacation is from the middle of June to about the third week of August – but that also may vary slightly from year to year. Winter break is typically a week, sometimes a bit longer, depending on when Christmas falls. Then, Spring break is about a week around Easter time. There is also a half week off for Thanksgiving near the end of November.

Private schools set their own calendars, so vary from public schools.

Colleges and Universities also set their own calendars, and those vary – my son is in in college, and his friends that attend college out of state start at different times than he does, and some of his friends have started second semester already, but he will be going back on Jan 24 for his second semester.

So there is no one, easy answer to your question. Sorry!
