The company plans to spend 150 million dollars in advertising on the aging game system which will be rendered obsolete when Sony unveils its new 32-bit PlayStation 2 in about 6 months. Sony says it has sold more than 1 million of the older model 16-bit units since the price dropped to below 100 dollars in August. Thats a grand total of 21 million units sold or about 1 out of every five homes in North America have a Sony PlayStation. ON Tuesday Sony closed up 2 9/16 at 158 7/16.
