If you are looking for jobs in the ski resorts try Banff in Alberta and the Canadian Rockies. If you are fluent in French that would be great but it would not be a problem learing while you were here. It also depends on what you are looking for in the job market. Canada could be a great place for oil and gas (Alberta and the offshore in Newfoundland and Labrador). Tourism is big in all provinces of the country. A nice few employers if they hire from another province or country will get you set up in accomodations and so forth. Best thing to do is to check out the Government of Canada job website at

What do you want to see, this is the second largest country on the planet. We have the worlds largest fresh water lakes, the Rocky Mts, Niagara Falls, museums, art galleries, The CN Tower, etc. Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver are large metropolitan cities. We are much like the US but cleaner, with less crime, the same technology. Plus our dollar is lower than the US buck so your money goes farther here than the US
We have professional baseball, hockey, football, auto racing, tennis, golf, There are rugby, and soccer(real football)
Toronto FC , Concerts, movies, The summer is the best time to be here. Winter keeps us indoors so much that we like to have lots of outdoor events.

You need to see the website below to learn about getting a work visa to Canada…this would be the first step…to be sure you can get a work visa before making plans.
there always seem to be tons of people from Down Under working in Banff, Alberta for the ski hills & other businesses.
Unless you are working in the province of Quebec, you don’t need to know French. If you are… ummm… good luck
Canada is huge and the answers to your question depend on where you go. In Ottawa the buses stop at around 12:30. In some cities they are 24 hrs a day.
The same jobs that are open in New Zealand are open here as well. You might check out Calgary’s oil patch for work.
