Question by chris_smart_guy_logel: Should Canada recognize other major religions by creating statuatory holidays for their major celebrations?
Canada has 11 statuatory holidays a year. Some are based on secular observances, while most recognize a Christian centered belief system. Shouldn’t other religions get the same recognition, if we claim to be a multi-cultural society?

Yes.
I’m Jewish and it sucks to see everyone all happy about christmas, all these Christmas cards everywhere, but I haven’t seen one Hanukkah thing yet. It makes it feel wierd. Also, everybody has school off for christian holidays, but when i dont showup to school for a jewish holiday, they demand a note of proof.
I say get with the times, not everybody is christian anymore and by excluding the other religion will only bring descrimination.
