Q&A: What is a good sun and sand destination for Christmas?

Question by Jeanne C: What is a good sun and sand destination for Christmas?
We have a daughter who lives in Japan, so a Southeast Asia location is an option, but we live on the Canadian East Coast, so North America, including Mexico, is also a possibility. Maybe someone just had a superb Christmas holiday and would like to share the experience!

Boracay, Camiguin or Palawan in Phils, very delicious food and cheap too. Plus the people there really love to entertain tourists and polite too, they also speak english so communication is no problem.
In Manila there is a superb restaurant called “Zamboanga” where they perform folk dances and folk music with natural instruments such as bamboo. They gave us chills when they danced Tinikling or dance of the Princess I think. I don’t recall the other performances but surely we forgot to eat because of the show. They also encourage people to dance with them, my uncle who is american joined and enjoyed a lot and my mom almost tripped over when she tried to dance tinikling the bamboo dance.
In Boracay you find lots of tourist, I don’t know if you want a crowded place especially in summer time. The sand is white and blue water. Lots of water sports to try on!
Camiguin there is also beaches, the white sand small island, sunken cementery, hot and cold springs, uh I forgot the other ones, and oh the ruins!
Palawan is the undeveloped one, so what you see is mostly nature. There all lots of falls, white beaches again, and the most exiting the underwater falls. A two hour trip under a cave, scary but very exiciting as well as relaxing.
White water rafting in Davao or Cagayan de Oro is also fun.
Philippines has many islands so I think findind beaches there is no problem. But those I mentioned are my personal favorites.
