Q&A: This division is ridiculous! Do you agree?
Question by Jay Bee: This division is ridiculous! Do you agree?
Although I would like to think that i make the “Comics & Animation” category my home on Yahoo Answers I often find myself looking at questions about politics and current events and what I find has really made me look at this country differently.
Almost every question is something attacking or accusing Obama of something and those questions that are not about it are people attacking or accusing some Conversation or republican figure. It does not stop and for every one honest question about topics like politics, Islam, Race, or the middle east among others is filled with answers is sarcastic or an attack.
When i turn on the news all i hear about is that there are more people signing up to join the KKK, i hear that people think Obama is Muslim and that people think just because you are Muslim you are a terrorist.
I see Jesse Jackson accusing Obama of “talking down” to black people because he does not use slang and then crying when Obama won the race…
The right wing is always calling the media unfair and that they want the President to fail.
As corny as it sounds cant we all just get along? I may be liberal but a few of my best friends are Conservative… one is so concervitive he actually called Halloween “the devils holiday” if you can believe it… but my friends and i get along even with our difference in political ideas and i always thought at the core of our country (when you forget the far right and far left) that even though we may be of different races, religion or political parties that we are one UNITED nation, that beyond the arguments that we have the same will to better the country but honestly i feel that idea is lost or even dead.
Are we really so far behind that we cannot deal with an African American President?
Are we really so blind we can not be open to new ideas?
And as i said before… can’t we all just get along?
I love America. Its where i was born and it will always be my home but with all this division and hate everywhere i look i sometimes think about moving up north to Canada once i finish college because they dont seem to have as much division as we have (not to say they don’t have any) and because i can not bare to see America fall of the cliff we seem to be running towards.

Give your answer to this question below!
Its just this section (or the requirements of y/a), order or logic isn’t necessary to argue on here, and many of the peeps on here are teens.

Rush Limbaugh: “I hope he fails”
You can’t really have a con as a best friend, be honest.
I mean if you like hanging out with a Forrest Gump all day, I guess it could work…
Thats what happens when you have people who have different ideas on how this country should be ran. I know it’s sad to see the division, but it can’t be helped. Everyone has their own opinions.
Republicans view working with “the enemy” as a weakness… be it Iran or liberals…
in fact, I’ve heard many mock Obama for REACHING OUT TO REPUBLICANS… saying he’s weak…
they seem to be functioning on about a cro-magnon level of “alpha male” identity… where the leader must destroy everyone who doesn’t agree with him…
if you know how to bring them to the table, I’m all ears…
but when they mock you, for trying to work with them…
it may be beyond repair…
It is true – no one has a monopoly on the truth.
How?
we all have so many different views and opinions.
How do we do that?
it is hard to stop the hatred when Republican Hate Radio is spewing their hate 24/7
I agree. Some years back, I watched FOX News for information on the Natalee Holloway case. In the course of doing so, I was able to hear a differing side to my party’s stances. While I did not agree with some of what was proposed on FOX, I did come away with a better and more accepting view of the Republican party. One exception was Hannity. That man is just a nut case.
the division is ridiculous and ultimately pointless, when you adhere to one party you forfeit your ability to think for yourself and think how they tell you to
do you believe in our founding fathers? any patriot would
I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever, in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else, where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent. If I could not go to heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all.” –Thomas Jefferson
What makes you think Canada has no division of opinion? Envision a state here in the US that wants to speak another language, makes up divisions so you can’t easily communicate in English.
Face it. People like to dicker over everything. If it is not your personal opinion it is wrong! That is just human nature. Be glad we have the freedom to dicker and quarrel without seceding from the union of the United States.
There were a lot of points I was going to make about this diatribe you posted but then I saw that final paragraph and realized you weren’t stupid you were just a college student and odds are you will grow out of it. I see a new group of you brilliant conversationalists who believe you know it all every semester and every semester when you leave my class you aren’t quite so puffed up but remain just as self-righteous as only a child can be.
Obama is nothing more than the final offspring of Affirmative Action and Liberalism. Most white liberals and all black liberals are so extremely bigoted and sanctimonious that they will never see the truth and I doubt you are capable of seeing it either. Obama was a nobody who gave a good speech and was charismatic but he never passed the blind test and never will.
Obama was given (this would be affirmative action at work fyi) postings that no other freshman (not junior, freshman) senator has ever been appointed to serve. He never authored a single bill but his name was on every major and most minor liberal bills that went out for a vote. He is a known racist who is celebrated by people just like you which I must say makes you a bigot but you knew that already too. I’m not going to waste my time with more facts that you will either deny or just ignore but I do suggest that someday you grow up, learn about the person you are speaking of and actually form your own opinion instead of picking up media/party talking points.
now I understood why my American English tutor told me he would never go back to the U.S. when I was a kid.
it’s the liberals that started this whole division thing.
for the past 18 yrs or so, liberals have been dictating to us:
what we can or cannot say
what we can or cannot think
what we can or cannot eat
what we can or cannot wear
what we can or cannot drive
how we raise our own children in our own homes
where we’re allowed to smoke and not smoke
what kind of light bulb we can or cannot use
who we have to like and who we don’t have to like
how much money we’re allowed to have
who are neighbors have to be
what we have to accept and what we don’t have to accept
what news channel we are and aren’t allowed to watch
and
what we can or cannot believe in.
and as far as obama goes, you liberals have a very short memory. for 8 long years we had to hear liberals moan and bellyache about bush and call him every nasty name in the book and protest his every move.
bush couldn’t put his pants on in the morning without liberals whining about it, now it’s “division” if people criticize obama?
funny wasn’t it you liberals who kept lecturing us about how dissent is patriotic?
we are on Y/A – I think You should not let it get to you so much. Healthy debate is a beautiful thing and Y/A is not really the place for that, except those few you come to trust and appreciate even though disagree
