hi i might be allowed to go on a summer exchange to the USA/Canada!! (im in australia and our summer holidays are 6 weeks (in december-january) so how long do the winter holidays in the usa go for, i’m assuming its the same for canada and also how cold does it get in LA and where in canada is warmest in winter bacause i hate the cold!

Canada is freezing around the time you are coming. Unless you go to Van couver where you won’t see the tempurature drop down lower than -10 celcius.
canadas all cold look at a map of the world. especially in december/ january.
Typically 2 weeks for the winter holidays. The cold in LA, well, I think cold is a relative term there. It doesnt snow, if that helps. In contrast, where I live in Maine, we had about 6 feet of snow last winter.
I live in LA and it is not cold at all in the winter time. You should definitely come to the US, since everything is cheaper and the weather is warmer. I just had a french exchange student here for the summer and he loved it! Make sure that you find a nice family who is willing to take you around, otherwise you might have a bad time.
edit: holidays are about 3 to 4 weeks. depends on the school
LA has 80′s jun jul aug rest of year high’s 70′s = 20C
with low’s in 60′s 15C…pretty sweet never cold

Im in Los Angeles and Ive traveled all over the world and no other state has topped this weather…in the summer its rarely too hot and winter its never too cold. I rarely wear a coat in the winter and if I do its probably for fashion. You can still visit the beach in winter months because more than likely its gonna still be sunny days around 70 degrees.
