it will depend on what kind of job you’re looking at. some temporary workers need a permit, some do not. visit this website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/apply-who.asp

Working holiday visas are pretty easy to get. You just need to be under 30, a member of a Commonwealth country, have some money in a bank account and a return plane ticket.
That’s the way I remember it anyway.
Edit:
This site says between 18-35:

Here you go:
Programs A & C are for full-time students at a UK universities between the ages of 18-30 & program B for non-university students and is open to people aged 18-35. I think there may be anual quotas if that’s the case it’s likely best to apply as soon as you can.

Does that work for you? Good luck.
Any legal work in Canada will require you to have a Visa but they are easy to get. I’ve looked into this for myself and there are a few easy retrictions for a working holiday visa.
-Between the ages of 18-30
-Enough money in the Bank to insure you can get home or a plane ticket home already
-No dependents
-No criminal record
-Commonwealth Country
-And they are only for one year
