I’m going on holiday to Aruba, do I need a passport?

Question by Sander: I’m going on holiday to Aruba, do I need a passport?
I’m a Dutch citizen, and I have an ID card, but I don’t have a passport. I have travelled (by plane) to several EU countries (like Hungary, Denmark, Italy etc.) with this ID card, and that was not a problem, but do I need a passport to fly to Aruba? It is still part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, so I’m not sure.

As far as I know you have always needed a passport to travel between the Netherlands and the Netherlands Antilles, but to be sure I checked it on the visa help site of the KLM, which is almost always up to date:
