Question by Adam: Going on holiday to North America – List the best 10 tourist attractions?
Can’t wait to go and have a fairly good idea of what to see, but I’d really appreciate a ‘top 10′ list from some people that either live there or have been. The attractions can be anywhere in the whole continent as I plan to do a lot of traveling and cost isn’t really an issue but try to keep it realistic for a tourist.

Golden Gate Bridge in Sanfrancisco.
Alcatraz in San Fran.
Grand Canyon, Arizona.
Drive thru the Rockies in Colorado.

), drive by the white house, and go into the Lincoln memorial (the president who abolished slavery in the US)
2. Washinton DC- see America’s historical documents like declaration and constitution at national archives, drive by the largest library in the world (library of congress cant go as tourist requires congressional approval for entrance
3. Chicago skyline is beautiful (Sears tower, Michigan Ave. (also highly regarded shopping, lake shore drive)
4. New York skyline is unbelievable and is the second best shopping in the world right behind Via Condotti in Rome. Also be sure to visit the United Nations HQ in eastern Manhattan. The UN building is international territory, and the tour they give is VERY cool
5. San Fransisco is overrated but if you’re in the west, visit the infamous prison island alcatraz off its coast. Napa valley is the countries main wine production district (just north of san fransisco)
6. In Washington state (Northwest) Mt. Rainer and Mt. St. Helens are both beautiful snowcapped mountains and the city of Seattle is coastal and beautiful. The Space Needle, much like Canadian CN tower, is accessible to the public and there is a rotating restraunt on the top.
7. Florida (southeast) is the nation’s most popular vacation spot. Miami was once a safe-haven for cuban immigrants in the 80s and was the spot for the night life in the world for the decade. Today florida has a booming night life and orlando is full of super amazing and high tech theme parks
8. Las Vegas- the las Vegas strip is famous world-round. Gambling in the US is legal in ordinary towns, casinos can only be put up on indian reservations and in the town of las vegas, nevada (west). The las Vegas strip houses 20+ casinos (one after another) and the strip’s days never end, its one of the only places you can get diner at 2 in the morning.
9. Santa Fe, New Mexico (Southeast) is an old town with all adobe style buildings. The town is very quaint and small and there are no 30 story hotels in sight. The government of the state has made the town completely traditional and the town is easily accessible without a car.
10. Los Angeles, New York, is just about the center of the world’s culture. The city includes the famous Hollywood district, a famous movie filming area. American celebrities are not uncommon walking the streets, be sure to check it out!
Everything listed is great, but you MUST check out Yellowstone National Park. Right near Yellowstone is also Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This is the one place everyone MUST see in their lifetime.
