Hi deal hunter !,
First off all it’s depending where you go Puerto Plata or Punta Cana or other place?
Anyway generally spoken you need some money for excursions, trips, souvenirs, (night life?), You will have to spend money for your tourist visa (10us) at arrival and also to pay at the departure (20 us) if not included in your “all inclusive deal” If you will stay at Puerto Plata, just contact me by e-mail I have a good deal for you!
Deal hunter, enjoy your stay !

What do you think? Answer below!

    Hi, Directorw
Since you are an average spender and you are going staying at inclusive Resorts. So is not going to much expending unless your are going to excursions, night clubs, casinos souvenirs shopping.
*You need US dollars to pay your excursions.
*The Exchange rate right now is US$1=RD$33.7 Dominican pesos.

    1. US$10.00 dollars for your tourist visa
    2. US$20.00 dollars for departures tax (most of the time is included in your ticket)
3.US$30-70 dollars taxi from the airport to your Hotel/Resort (I really don’t know what part of the country are you staying. sometimes transportation is included too)
You can estimate US$150-250 per day more or less.

    Good luck!!
    Enjoy your stay!!

They use Dominican Pesos…you will have to look up the exchange rates on the net. I would take $150.00 USD in small bills or travellers cheques that are the safest.

Have fun the in the DR!!!!

I went to Punta Cana 2 years ago to an all inclusive resort for one week. I took £300 GBP with me that I had converted to $USD. I think I have about $500 usd at the time. I spent maybe $200 on excursions and the rest I spent on souveniers and duty free in the airport and airplane on my way home. When you book an excursion you usually have food and drink included so the only extras you have are any photographs etc…You will not need that much unless like me you love spending money!

  4. only thing i advise u is to be careful with the vendors trying to sell u lil gifts. They will charge u in dollars n they want to rip u off just cuz ure an american….trust me i seen it happen……im a dominican american ..they never get me! have fun though ….the currency is $US 1=$34Pesos…take about 500 to be on the safe side
