Question by thebluesky: Can someone edit my editorial? (It’s a really short one) PLEASE!?
Canada is a multicultural country. Part of Canada’s population is Chinese people. The Chinese celebrate New Year’s based on the Lunar calendar not just the modern version. In my opinion, since there is already a holiday for New Year’s on the modern calendar, I think that there should be a Holiday in Canada on Chinese New Year’s because there are many Chinese Canadians who celebrate it. This idea will let Canadians learn more about the Chinese culture and let the Chinese Canadians have fun on their own holiday.

I don’t see anything wrong with your editoral outside of the beginning. If your going to talk about the Chinese Candians tell the percentage of the population is Chinese Canadians and is there somewhere where they are heavily populated. Also when you say that Canada is multicultural, naming only one culture kind of defeats the purpose of you saying it in first place.

Calling the Gregorian calendar “the modern calendar” is condescending, if not downright insulting. (And that’s not even considering that the Chinese had a working calendar when Europeans were still wondering whether the sun god would be appeased and come back north for another year.)
