This Atlantis Hotel opened at more or less the same time when the poor and helpless Palestinian Arabs were mercilessly slaughtered in Gaza.

What speciality does Dubai give to its tourists?
It seems to me that UAE’s strategy has been (whether successful/not) to build a luxury holiday destination aimed at recession-proof high networth individuals – like George Clooney, Oprah, Brangelina … , as well as the richest from various countries (russia, europe, asia…). So that’s how much they have to spend on entertainment to feed their vanity and make them buy islands. So there’s still some return otherwise the Emiratis are digging their own grave in their budget.

I have an issue with the extravagant Opening Ceremony!
I never said they have not donated to anyone or not helped but each penny matters and the way to spend it matters more.

If you would have followed the news closely you would have known that there are huge concerns about its profitability
Secondly a 2 billion pounds opening ceremony is wreckless. I have personally lived in Dubai and I know what it is like for Asians to live there. You can build future, I dont say you shouldn’t but luxury spending should be with in certain limits. The rulers of Dubai are not acting normally. I know as I have experienced.
Hey UAE is building all these to generate FUTURE income because they are running out of oil. Plus how can you expect GCCs to just donate to the less-better-off muslim countries for nothing? I am sure they have done enough to take refugees and give them employment… They need to figure something out for themselves. It’s called ‘trade’.

May Allah shower his blessings upon the entire human race. Today there is Lack of food around the globe, so many people die of hunger every passing day, people commit suicide due to lack of the most basic needs of life and look at these Arabs (Muslims) they wont support their Muslim brothers but instead tail the “Gori Chamri Walay” (Whites).
