Where to go on Holiday with 5 month Old Baby ?

Question by vanessa: Where to go on Holiday with 5 month Old Baby ?
hiya i am planning on going on holiday in september this year – my baby will be 5 month old by then!
where do you think me and my fiance and our newborn should go ?
we like places with plenty of restuarants etc but dont want somewhere too lively as we will have our precious little 1 !
i am a little nervous as this will be our first child (due in march!!) but we always go on holiday and we can afford to go away so would like some advice as to where to take babies on holiday ???
we are from the uk and are looking for a warm holiday somewhere in europe during september 09?
any ideas ?

We took our son on beach vacations when he was 4 months and 7 months old. It was great. Choose a place with lots of walking (bring a stroller and a body carrier). Baby will enjoy walking and people watching along with you. At five months they are pretty adorable in restaurants – just choose venues where you can ask for to-go boxes and make a quick exit if the baby becomes fussy.

  1. Italy? The one time I was there it seemed like everyone was really mellow wherever you went and loved kids. Also, nice restaurants and it’s warm. Pick a sleepy city near the sea with some nice cultural stuff. I was in a small city halfway between Florence and Venice.

If you want to drive then Brittany in France is good and the French are pretty laid back about kids in restaurants.

If you are nervous then why not stay in the UK? It can be warm in Sept and also you know that you can always get hold of a doctor or hospital and nappies!

Try this place:http://www.woolacombe.co.uk/ They have a fully functioning creche which is great and it would mean you can leave baby and have a nice meal out!

Spain and Greece are beautiful places to go on Holiday. Southern Spain is a little less touristy then the major cities like Barcelona and Madrid.
Crete is travelled less than larger areas in Greece.
Italy is also nice. Try a smaller town there as well.
