October is usually a pretty good time to be here in Italy. The weather is mostly very nice, it’s not as crowded or expensive as the peak tourist season, and there are some interesting things going on during the month. One of my favorites is the Eurochocolate festival in Perugia which is a huge event. Part of it is set up in old buildings from the 14th century which are now underground. The usual tourist attractions are all available. We do get some fog here in northern Europe some mornings, but that makes for some great photo ops in places like Venice.

You’re better off booking sooner rather than later with respect to prices.

Spain, Italy, or Greece. Also, you should book early. International travel is expensive and doesn’t really get any cheaper the closer to the date you get.
