Its not the same in every county. I live in dortmund and the first day of the hloidays this this year is the 26th june and lasts for 6 1/2 weeks.

July, August and September is the semester break but ‘normal’ school holidays are different in every federal state.

mid-June, July, August. These are the main summer holidays. It varies between states.

Mind that university holidays may vary wildly. (Yes, I meant “wildly”, not “widely”.)
It varies – generally speaking the students in northern Germany start things off and return to school earliest. As you go south, the summer holidays begin later. I’ve been told children in Munich begin their holidays last.
