in italy we celebrate new year’s day, epiphany, carnival, sain joseph’s day(march 19. in onor of saint joseph in italy are prepare some tabe with tipic dishes, “tavole di san giuseppe” ) easter, easter monday, liberation day (april 25, the anniversary of the fall of mussolini’s italian social republic), may day, republic day (june 2) , saint anthony of padua (13 june, in a big part of italy), ferragosto (august 15, an italian holiday in which we take brief vacance), saint francis of assisi – petronius of italy (october 4) all saints day (november 1), all souls day (november 2), immaculate conception ( december 8), christmas and new year’s eve.
in every single town there is the feast of saint patronus, which is not celebrate in all italy, but only in the town.. however, in the day of the saint patronus the school is close..
we don’t go at school from 23 december since 6 jenaury. then we don’t go one week in the easter period, april 25 and june 2.. i think that, who has possibility still celebrate ferragosto also in america.
in america a lot of italian people had recreate their feat of saint patronus. some of this festivity are very particular.
